Industrialists Appeal – Government should prepare footwear park by giving big and cheap plot
Plans to develop Asia’s largest footwear park in Industrial Model Township (AIMT) located in Kharkhauda adjacent to Bahadurgarh have been canceled. Now this land can be given to Maruti. Maruti has asked the government for 1000 acres of land here, but no decision has been taken yet.
It was estimated that there will be 2.5 lakhs in the footwear park. Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) Director Narhari Singh Bangar informed about the cancellation of the scheme. On this, the Footwear Association said that the government should rethink the preparation of footwear park by making large plots available to industrialists at low prices.
A year ago the CM made a discovery
On 17 November 2018, CM announced to build a footwear park on 910 acres. For this, it was decided to allot about 620 plots. HSIIDC had recently sought applications for the allocation of 314 plots for a 676-acre footwear park.
This could be the reason for cancellation: Factories could not operate due to small plot.
The shoe industrialists of Bahadurgarh have the intention that the government cut small plots here, in which factories could not operate properly. The rates of these plots were also fixed. Due to lack of allotment process of the plots as per wish, industrialists opted out of it.
Maruti asks for land: prime location for industries
This IMT is close to Delhi and is connected to the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway. There is also preparation to run the train with KMP. The Delhi-Katra National Highway will also pass close to this land. Hence it is the prime location. Because industrialists will not face any problem of transportation from here. That is why Maruti has also asked for this land here.
This was the project: a promise of investment of 7 thousand crores
The largest footwear park in Haryana is in Bahadurgarh. The shoes prepared here go to India and abroad. The footwear park here has been developed. Businessmen here had demanded land in Kharkhoda IMT to expand their industry. The industrialists had promised to invest around 7 thousand crores.
